THE ROYAL VISIT

On Tuesday 9th January 2001 some of the committee and players were lucky enough to meet HRH Princess Anne at the official opening of the new High Lane village hall.

HRH Princess Anne

The original village hall was destroyed by fire in November 1995 and the local community raised £425,000 for the new village hall - helped by a National Lottery grant.
The Club use the facilities of the new Village Hall on match days and were invited to go and meet HRH Princess Anne and set up a display about the Club. All other users of the Village Hall were invited to attend the official opening and there were about 15 other users who set up displays on the day.

Our Display

As the Princess Royal unveiled a plaque to commemorate the official opening, she said "May I congratulate everybody involved in the last five years of hard work. It must have been hugely satisfying to see this wonderful new village hall".
