Under 10s 'A'

Match report by David Wilde.
High Lane travelled to Hyde this Saturday morning where the pitch was wet and muddy but that didn't seem to affect either team. From the offset the teams set out playing nice passing football, every player trying to find the feet of their team mates. The game was fantastic to watch with a draw being a very fair result, this being the second time we have drawn against each other this season. Hyde themselves have lost one and drawn three times (twice high Lane) this season winning the rest, so the result is very positive for myself and Rob to take. All the lads played well today Melville and Taylor looking very comfortable at the back and limited Hyde to long distance shots which were bread and butter for Harper to deal with. The scores were level at half time 0-0, after some decent chances were missed from High lane, and some confident goalkeeping from the Hyde keeper.
Second-half and both teams upped their tempo and started raining in more shots, Harper failed to deal with a low drive which was parried to the oncoming striker to tap in, very unfortunate for Harper who didn't put a foot wrong all morning. However High Lane have proved they come back stronger and more determined when conceding and that's just what they did with 5 minuites remaining Jeffs and Southern combined down the left to find Hind who made the score 1-1 with a clinical finish. Southern continued his superb form of recent weeks and was a thorn in the Hyde's defence all morning, he was determined to make the game a win when he beat two men and fired a shot just wide. Shaw played in a different role just in front of the defenders and broke up a lot of the play with his energy. Jeffs as usual was instrumental in building up attacks and blocking any of there's. Man of the Match for the second week on the trot went to Jacob Southern. Well done boys big game next week, going to be a tough one against the unbeaten Marple.
Under 10s 'B'

Match report by Steve Taylor.
We started well. The first-half was tight but everyone was up for it. Dan Whit in nets Liam, Harry and Ali at the back with James and Dom in midfield and George up front. James scored a great goal taking it up the left wing and blasting it in the top right corner. We had a penalty soon after and James stepped up unfortunately he just missed.
The second-half came and we made some changes Jack came on at the back for Harry, Gus, Zac and Oliver came on for George, Dom and James. Hyde came out a different team and forced us back all the time. Dan Whit made some great saves and looks back on form. The whole team played well. We are looking at the number of subs for each team and maybe setting up a 'C' team. I try to accommodate all the players but with so many wanting to play it's hard to keep everyone happy. Man of the Match went to James S. Marple on Saturday we beat them last time and we will try to do the same.
Under 11s

Match report by Kevin Lofthouse.
With the league season back on the agenda after last Saturday's cup exploits, the Under 11s had an away trip to Richmond Rovers, with a lot of water on the ground and the prospect of playing without talisman George, today's match was a test of character and question of who could perform when it mattered.
Well the question was soon answered, Jamie as always winning the midfield, Dan B at the back sweeping everything up and Milo up front brilliantly bagging a brace either side of a saved penalty, well struck by Myles. With Sean and Dan J, comfortable and organised Joe and Marcus working hard to snuff out any opposition chances, Richmond's only real opportunity of the first-half came when a little indecision, at the back, let in the winger to riffle home a great equaliser, although High Lane were on top the score was 2-1 at half-time.
In the second-half with the game evenly matched a great move eventually found Ryan at the back post to smash in the third, his first of the season, although in the first-half he was very harshly adjudged off-side scoring from a similar position, (just goes to show don't question the decisions, in the end you will earn what you deserve). Today's Man of the Match Alex re-found that brilliance of last season, (perhaps usually he play's in ore of other team mates) well no need, with great skill and imagination he frightened the opponents each time he had the ball.this game was a pleasure to watch and once again two good groups of players enjoying the game, also thanks to the Richmond management, great idea roping of the pitch to prevent parent encroachment, excellent!
Most pleasing today! other than a fine team performance was seeing Matty, Jack and Mehran coming off the bench and making some superb positive contribution, keep it up!
