Under 11s

Match report by Kevin Lofthouse.
With the spectre of last weeks exhausting 5-4 defeat to Spurley Hey hanging over their heads, we did not know quite what to expect from our team.
No need to worry, once again they bounced back with style. Up front Milo was at his best, scoring two goals in the first 5 minutes either side of a strike from Myles, Dan J striking a superb left footer into the corner of the net for 4-0 and Alex Greenwood smashing another one from the edge of the box for number five before half-time
As pleased as week could be with the great goal scoring, this was a culmination of some hard work on the training ground and a true desire from the players to show how good they can be against a Chapel team, who have always had the upper hand in previous seasons and include some excellent players including a young lady 'Gabby' who is always fantastic and today showed again how good she is when, in the second-half she was pushed into midfield to mix it with the High Lane players, this move enabled Chapel to get on the score sheet only to see George nip up the other end to make it 6-1. The final goal of the game came in the last 5 minutes when the Chapel forward latched onto a pass through a static High Lane defence, to calmly slot home as stand in keeper Myles tried to block.
Great result and fantastic performance, with Spurley losing away at next weeks opponents Poynton, the race for runners-up is really hotting up! Difficult to pick a Man of the Match this week after some heroic performances but Dan J won it with a very mature game making superb decisions and showing great composure on the ball.
