Under 11s

Match report by Kevin Lofthouse.
Once again no easy games in this division and the visit of a Poynton side who have not been beaten for some time, and on the back of a somewhat fortunate victory against promotion favourites Spurley Hey, the previous week, looked strong and confident.
In swirling winds and with High Lane winning the toss and kicking down hill and with the wind behind them Poynton were penned back for most of the first-half, but although High Lane had all the play with the help of the conditions, they could not find the goal until a scramble some 5 minutes from half-time fell to sub Mathew who had come on 5 minutes earlier for Myles. He was able to get the final touch and score the crucial first. 1-0 half time.
The second-half was likely to be the opposite and High Lane were grateful for the excellent handling of captain and keeper Joe Chorlton, although the defence found it difficult to clear the ball, fortunately Man of the Match Jamie Wood was able to clear everything near him and with Milo always looking dangerous up front it was only a question of time before he got his chance. This came when he found the ball at his feet just outside the centre circle, he outstripped the excellent central from Poynton and shot home, the ball only just crossed the line as the Poynton keeper scrambled back to his line. Final score 2-0.
