Under 11s

Well here it is the last Under 11s report of the 2007/08 season, bet you're fed up reading them!
After the stunning result last Saturday winning away at Hyde United the Under 11s had the chance to achieve the runners-up spot in their division, with only one minor change from last weeks starting 11 with Nicos getting his opportunity, the boys were on fire from the start, this was helped by the big pitch our ability to pass, track back, win the ball both with tackles and headers with the ariel presence of both Marcus and Jamie, throw into that the brilliant Milo and George we were going to score. This happened when both grabbed a quick brace each before half-time, although Didsbury managed a goal at 2-0, when the impressive Dan B and his Man of the Match partner Joe Marshall were beaten for the only time in the game, half-time 4-1.
In the second-half we created several more chances with Alex going close on four or five occasions with some great skill only to be thwarted by the brilliance of the keeper who also saved a penalty and great free-kick from George, although he completed his well deserved hat-trick to finish the game 5-1 and rubber stamp the runners-up spot. CONGRATULATIONS you should be very proud of yourselves.
Just one important note of point, I am very pleased to say that, throughout the season every player in the squad on match day, has got onto the pitch for at least some of the game, this is something I am proud of after watching so many teams that we have played against this season leave players stood on the sideline throughout the whole of the game.
